Dentist

Robert Tentler D.D.S.

Dr. Tentler is a Chicago native who has been providing quality dental treatment and dedicated patient care to patients from all walks of life for many years.

Dr. Tentler completed his doctor of dental surgery at Loyola University after which he finished a general practice residency at Cook County Hospital Chicago. Dr. Tentler completed his anesthesia residency training at the University of Illinois Hospital Chicago and is a Diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesia. He is also the current acting president of the Illinois Dental Society of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Tentler is uniquely trained in providing office-based anesthesia in both IV Sedation and General Anesthesia. His practice features a strong focus on treatment for numerous categories of patients including:

Physically and mentally challenged adults and children
Patients with dental phobia and fear/anxiety issues
Individuals with an aversion to needles and/or the sound of drills
Patients suffering from a strong gag reflex
Patients requiring extensive dental treatment that must be accomplished same day under IV Anesthesia

Dr. Tentler is an avid skier who also enjoys snorkeling and fishing. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and gourmet cooking.

Matthew Pearce D.M.D.

Dr. Matt Pearce is a General Dentist who's practice is focused on patient needs, no matter how simple or complex. He enjoys open discussions to understand every individual's specific needs.

In addition to providing comprehensive general and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Matt Pearce has a special focus on helping patients who struggle with dental care in traditional settings.

Through IV sedation and a compassionate, patient-centered approach, Dr. Pearce regularly cares for individuals with severe dental anxiety, autism, developmental disabilities, sensory sensitivities, strong gag reflexes, and complex medical needs. Many of his patients come to him after years of avoiding the dentist, unsuccessful treatment attempts elsewhere, or difficulty receiving care in a traditional dental environment.

Dr. Pearce believes every patient deserves access to comfortable, high-quality dental care. His goal is to make treatment feel manageable, predictable, and comfortable—even for patients who never thought they could successfully complete a dental appointment.

As an IV sedation provider, Dr. Pearce has completed advanced training in sedation, airway management, and emergency preparedness. He routinely performs procedures ranging from routine dental care to full-mouth rehabilitation while maintaining a strong focus on safety and individualized treatment.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Pearce enjoys spending time with his wife and children, competing in ultramarathons, and serving the community he proudly calls home.

Ryan Bales D.M.D.

Dr. Ryan Bales is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-focused dental care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. He believes that building trust, listening to each patient’s concerns, and thoroughly explaining treatment options are key to helping patients feel confident and at ease throughout their dental experience.

Dr. Bales earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Iowa. Dr. Bales is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Illinois State Dental Society.

Committed to continuing education and excellence in dentistry, Dr. Bales strives to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles while ensuring every visit is a positive and comfortable experience.

Outside the office, Dr. Bales enjoys golfing, spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants and following his favorite Chicago sports teams. A lifelong Chicago sports fan, his favorite teams are the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bears.

Renee is the Office Manager at Southwest Dental Group and has been a trusted leader within the practice for over 15 years. She began her career as a dental assistant and advanced into management, giving her a strong foundation in both clinical operations and team leadership.
